Our beloved San Diego Mandolin Orchestra will be performing for this year's Winter Walkabout. They have become part of our holiday tradition since 2005 and hopefully yours too. There is nothing like the sound of this 20-member orchestra playing holiday favorites in the cozy evening atmosphere of The Grove. So bring family and friends to enjoy this special night. Holiday treats will be served and we'll have plenty of special holiday sales.

In addition to our usual discounts on selected books, yarns, and other Grove treasures from 6:30 - 10:00 PM, we are very pleased to host the newest restaurant in North Park, Urban Solace, on 30th Street across from the Union Bank Building (the locale of the former North Park Deli). The owners will be serving samples of their comfort food! Check out UrbanSolace.net for a glimpse of their homey dishes, starting with the "pile of cheese biscuits with honey orange dressing". We are so impressed with the sophisticated yet welcoming atmosphere, their unique menu, reasonable prices, and delicious food.

Midknit Release Party of the final Harry Potter book DON'T MISS THIS ONE!!!! Join us and our South Park neighbors starting at 6:00 PM, we'll have our usual spectacular sale specials, drinks, treats and surfer music. We'll have some fun and games and knitting for the kids between 10:30 and 12. At the stroke of midnight, we will distribute Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows to all who prepaid. And we will have extra copies on hand for those who wish to purchase them the night of the event.
