San Diego Writer's Ink, a non-profit organization supporting amateurs and professionals, presents Dime Stories Live (formerly known as First Fridays), an open mic opportunity for prose writers, because poetry gets all the other microphone time.

Bring 3 minutes of prose to read aloud to peers and future readers in a supportive, relaxed atmosphere. Three minutes may not sound like much, but it's best to keep your audience wanting more! And there is more because First Friday readings are held every month.

Readers are chosen randomly from the sign-up slips that are placed in the bucket prior to 7:00. Each reader is given three minutes -- exactly. Time limit is enforced.

6:00 PM: Social time with wine and hors d'eourves
7:00 PM: Readings begin
