(You MUST know the basics of crochet: foundation chain, single and double and treble crochet, increase/decrease and counting stitches. Not for the beginner level crocheter.)

This isn't crochet! Is it?!

Tunisian (aka "Afghan") crochet gives us a woven cloth similar to knitting. You'll use this technique to create a sampler or to start an afghan.

Basic forward and return stitches and color changes will be covered; this is a great way to do intarsia in crochet. Free patterns to take home.

Our crochet classes have undergone a transformation. Join me for some or all of a series of four classes that will take you from beginning to advanced crochet stitches and techniques. Each class will focus on new stitches and techniques. Projects will be available for each class -- some worked on during class time, others offered as free take-home patterns. Also, see the bottom of this list for a special workshop on edging -- for crocheters, knitters and other crafters.

Note: Please respect the skill level in each class. Whether you are a beginner or advanced student, if you're at a different level than the rest of the class it's frustrating for all -- you, the other students and ME! Remember that I'm available for private lessons and consultation ($20 per hour; half hour minimum). ---Melody

Materials

1. worsted weight yarn (10% discount on yarn for class)
2. afghan crochet hook in appropriate size (available at The Grove)
3. scissors or yarn cutter
4. tape measure
