(Instructor Susan Wells) Materials available for purchase: light-colored, worsted or bulky weight yarn with compatible needles. Bring a calculator, tape measure and paper & pencil. Skill Level: Beginner
Capelet Saturday 19 May: 2:00 - 5:00 PM $25 (includes pattern)
Learn to shape a garment with short rows using 100% hemp to knit this stylish capelet. This garter stitch piece is knit side to side and has a subtle scallop edge along the bottom. While we won't be able to finish this in one class, you will leave having the pattern established and knowing exactly how to complete it. Materials: US #10 circular needle 24" length, 3 - 4 skeins Allhemp 6, and 2 buttons. (Instructor Susan Wells) Skill Level: Easy (ability to knit and purl)
Fiber Art Purse 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM Saturday 12 & 19 May: $50 + $40 materials
Make a spectacular shoulder bag by arranging and sewing fibers on soluble fabric. In Class I, arrange and sew the strap and side panels. Leave with instructions on how to dissolve the fabric backing at home and return with your pieces ready to assemble in Class 2. We'll also do the lining in Class II and attach closures of your choice. Must bring portable sewing machine and know basic machine sewing skills. Materials: fibers, soluble fabric, matching thread, and lining fabric. Not included: button or other closure (sold separately or bring your own). Please bring scissors and long straight pins preferably with beaded heads. (Instructor Judy Thacker) Skill Level: Easy
One Hour Flower 2 - 3 PM Saturday 12 May: $25 (includes kit)
Learn the fundamentals of working with wired ribbon by making a gathered rosette with button center and a leaf. This is a great beginning ribbon project.
