Artists' Reception: Sunday, October 2, 3-6 pm. Artist Gail Ruff presents watercolors from her European travels in a show entitled "Provence and Sunflowers".

 SOUTH PARK WALKABOUT: Friday, October 7, 6-10 pm.  Join us and other South Park merchants for an evening of music, fun and food. Raffle Tickets will be sold to benefit South Park community projects.  Join us for a gourmet popcorn extravaganza.  

The Marcia Forman Band CD Release Party: Friday, October 14,  7-9 pm. Come celebrate the release of "Relatively Speaking" with South Park's Marcia Forman and her band.

Classes & Workshops

Brown Bag Writing Practice Group; Every Tuesday, 12-1 pm; Fee: $5. Given prompts, practice all types of writing free from editing or critique. Just drop in prepared to write. No experience necessary. Amy Wallen amylizwrites@hotmail.com and Jill Hall jillghall@aol.com lead.  

Beginning Knitter Scarf Classes, October 1 & 8 (2:30-5:30pm); or October 12 & 19 (6:30-9 pm); Fee: $40 for both sessions. If you haven't learned yet, it's time! We'll teach you to cast on and knit during Part One. Part Two: return to complete your scarf and fringe it if you wish. Wear it home!

Continental Knitting, October 9, 11-2 pm; Fee: $25. For knitters wishing to learn the European way to knit by "picking" rather than "throwing" the yarn.  Considered by many to be faster than U.S. method of knitting.  Also excellent method for lefties.

Fingerless Glove Class for Advanced Beginners, Saturdays, October 1 and 8, 11-2:00 pm; Fee: $40 They're all the rage & we have a terrific selection of yarns for these simple, picot edged, eyelet patterned gloves. Must see sample in store. Knowledge of knit and purl required.  

Kids Beginning Knitting, Sunday, October 2, 12-4 pm; Fee: $30 For kids aged 8-12 years, this class introduces children to the basics of knitting. Taught by an experienced grade school teacher with a love for yarns and a special knack for teaching the art to kids.

Knit Salon: First & Third Thursdays, October 6 & 20, 6:30-9:00 PMDrop in anytime and join fellow knitters and crocheters for an evening of creativity in the cozy atmosphere of the Grove. No instructions offered but yarn selection advice is available.  

Finishing Techniques for Knitters: Sun. October 15, 11-3 pm. Fee: $25 Learn to pick up stitches for button bands & collars, cast off with 3 needles and sew seams flawlessly. A must for those eager to graduate from scarves to sweaters!

Sock Class: Sun. October 16, 11-3 pm. Fee: $25 Learn to knit with double pointed needles, turn a heel, and finish toes with the Kitchener Stitch.  

"Branching Out" Scarf: Saturdays, October 22 & 29, 11-2 pm. Fee: $40 Learn to knit Knitty.com's "Branching Out" scarf (under "Archives"), an easy lace scarf made in soft Silky Wool. The delicate leaf pattern is amazingly simple to knit with our guidance. Good way to learn to read a simple chart!

GRANNY SQUARE CROCHET CLASS, Sunday, October 23, 1-5 pm. Fee: $25 What goes around come around -- we mean square! Use granny square in the building block for your next project, whether it's a scarf, throw or poncho.  

Felted Purse Class: Sunday, October 30 & November 12, 1-4 pm: Fee: $40 We'll be making a simplified version of SWTC's Fur Real Felted Purse. See the pattern on soysilk.com under "Patterns" and then "Karaoke". Come see store sample and all the gorgeous colors we have to choose from!

 JEWELRY CLASS: Sunday, October 23; 1-5PMFee: $45 Learn basic wire wrapping, bead stringing & use of jewelry making tools. Complete earrings and bracelet in class. Tools & materials available for use in class and to purchase.


CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY

In the event the Grove needs to cancel a class due to lack of participants, the Grove will issue a full refund.

Participants who are unable to attend as planned, must notify the Grove within five days of the class in order to receive a refund. Otherwise the class fee is forfeited. Fees cannot be applied to future classes. No exceptions.
