Join us for a reading and celebration of the first anthology of San Diego Writers Ink. A Year in Ink: Volume 1, edited by Thomas Larson, is an inspired collection of poems, novel and memoir excerpts, and short stories from writers -- instructors and students alike -- who were part of The Ink Spot's first year. Included are works by Roger Aplon, Steve Kowit, Suzana Norberg, Sylvia Levinson, Judy Reeves and 24 other writers.

Class Cancellation Policy
No Exceptions

In the event The Grove must cancel a class due to lack of participants, The Grove will issue a full refund. Participants who are unable to attend as planned must notify The Grove within five (5) days of the class in order to receive a refund, otherwise the class fee is forfeited. Fees cannot be applied to future classes.

By popular demand we are teaching a technique class for Alice Beret from Knitting Little Luxuries which will enable you to complete Louisa Harding's "jaunty tam" reminiscent of the 1920s. We learn to do the picot cast on, knit stripes of color, and install bias binding for a professional finish. (Instructor Susan Wells) Materials available for purchase: 6 balls in assorted colors of Nautical Cotton yarn by Louisa Harding; US sizes #3 & #5 straight knitting needles; tapestry needles, sewing needle and thread, 22" of 1" bias binding; scissors/thread cutter. For beginning knitters wishing to learn to purl, decrease, and seam, this simple hat class is a must. Also learn to edge your hat with a simple crochet stitch to ensure a good fit. For those who have finished knitting the Daphne Purse: learn to do the ribbon embroidery that makes this bag extra special. We'll also be interfacing, lining and sewing the purse together. Beginner's Scarf Saturdays 22 & 29 March 2008: 1:00 - 3:00 PM $40 for 2 sessions
If you haven't learned yet, it's time! Class 1: we'll teach you to cast on and knit. Class 2: return to complete your scarf and fringe it if you wish. Wear it home! Continental Knitting 12 noon - 2 PM Sunday 30 March 2008 $20 + $5 yarn fee
Learn to knit and purl the Continental way! Make a dishcloth using stitches you already know, but with yarn held in left hand. This is a great class for rib & moss stitch lovers and lefties.
