Our beloved San Diego Mandolin Orchestra will be performing for this year's Winter Walkabout. They have become part of our holiday tradition since 2005 and hopefully yours too. There is nothing like the sound of this 20-member orchestra playing holiday favorites in the cozy evening atmosphere of The Grove. So bring family and friends to enjoy this special night. - Crochet Club 12:00 noon - 2 PM 2nd and 4th Sundays 9 & 23 December 2007 $10
- Want to learn to crochet, but don't need another scarf? Come every session to build your skills, or drop in occasionally to learn a new stitch. We'll work on samplers (including granny squares) to learn a different stitch or technique at each meeting. These squares can be used to make a purse, afghan, pillow... OK, even a scarf...I won't tell. They'll even stand alone as wash or dishcloths or other small useful items. Drop in and get hooked! And the rules: Not too many. This is a drop-in class. Although a more relaxed version of instruction, please do not expect individual project assistance. I will be happy to schedule a private instruction appointment with you for your own projects! Join us to complete your holiday gifts in the knitting-conducive environment of The Grove. Or use the evening to knit or crochet 9" squares to help create blankets to donate to families who have lost everything in the October wildfires. Skacel and other yarn companies have donated yarn for the project. We have a big basket of Soft Wool by Skacel. Customers can pick up a skein or two here and complete them in two weeks. We'll coordinate construction of the blankets or take them to Common Threads where they have the labor to do it!- Open Mic 7 - 9 PM Friday 7 December 2007
