Regular Events & Workshops

Brown Bag Writing Practice Group 12 - 1 PM Every Tuesday $5
Given prompts, practice all types of writing free from editing or critique. Contact Jill Hall at jillghall@aol.com for additional information.
Crochet Club 12:00 noon - 2 PM 2nd and 4th Sundays 9 & 23 September 2007 $10
Want to learn to crochet, but don't need another scarf? Come every session to build your skills, or drop in occasionally to learn a new stitch. We'll work on samplers (including granny squares) to learn a different stitch or technique at each meeting. These squares can be used to make a purse, afghan, pillow... OK, even a scarf...I won't tell. They'll even stand alone as wash or dishclothes or other small useful items. Drop in and get hooked! And the rules: Not too many. This is a drop-in class. Although a more relaxed version of instruction, please do not expect individual project assistance. I will be happy to schedule a private instruction appointment with you for your own projects! (Instructor Melody Hufford)
Knit Salon 6:30 - 9 PM First & Third Thursdays 6 & 20 September 2007 Free
Drop in and join fellow knitters and crocheters for an evening of creativity in the cozy atmosphere of The Grove. No instructions offered, but yarn selection advice is available.
Open Mic 7 - 9 PM Friday 2 August 2007
San Diego Writer's Ink presents First Fridays Open Mic for Prose Writers, hosted by Amy Wallen. Bring 3 minutes of prose to read aloud to peers and future readers in a supportive, relaxed atmosphere. For more info, contact amylizwrites@hotmail.com

Those who have taken this class before and need a little jump start to finish theirs are welcome to "audit" this one. Learn to shape a garment with short rows using 100% hemp to knit this stylish capelet. This garter stitch piece is knit side to side and has a subtle scallop edge along the bottom.
