- If you haven't learned yet, it's time! We'll teach you to cast on and knit
during Part One. Part Two: return to complete your scarf and fringe it if you

- Cables & Stitch Patterns Sunday 11 March: 11 - 3 PM $25
- Looking for a gentle introduction to more complex knitting techniques? Dave will show you that making cables and textural repeats are easier than they appear. Materials: smooth, uniform DK or worsted weight yarn in a light color; compatible needles; cable needles; stitch markers; yarn cutter. (Instructor David Kraft) Skill Level: Intermediate

Saturday 10 March: 1:00 - 4:00 PM $25 (includes pattern)
- Learn to shape a garment with short rows using 100% hemp to knit this stylish capelet. This garter stitch piece is knit side to side and has a subtle scallop edge along the bottom. While we won't be able to finish this in one class, you will leave having the pattern established and knowing exactly how to complete it. Materials: US #10 circular needle 24" length, 3 - 4 skeins Allhemp 6, and 2 buttons. (Instructor Susan Wells) Skill Level: Easy (ability to knit and purl)

Saturdays 24 & 31 March: 11 AM - 1:30 PM $45 (includes pattern)
- This is a terrific opportunity to learn the seamless Turkish Cast-On, to make those cute decorative bobbles, and bind off by using an I-Cord finishing technique. In Class One, cast on and knit a gradual increase to provide shape to the bottom of the bag. In Class Two, return ready to knit the bobbles, bind-off, and knit & braid the I-cord handles. Felting will be done at home, but we'll provide you with the know-how and encouragement you'll need! (Instructor Susan Wells) Skill Level: Intermediate (ability to knit and purl)
- One Hour Flower Saturday 10 March: 11 AM - 12 noon $25 (includes kit)
- Learn the fundamentals of working with wired ribbon by making a gathered rosette with button center and a leaf. This is a great beginning ribbon project. Be forewarned: Once you make one rosette, you won't want to stop! Materials available day of class. (Instructor Christen Brown) Skill Level: Beginner

Sunday 11 March: 1 - 4300 PM $115 (includes materials & use of tools)
- If you haven't seen our collection of Precious Metal Clay pendants and earrings, you must stop by. PMC looks a lot like sterling silver, except it is brighter and more malleable so that you can create incredibly interesting shapes, imprints, and more! Learn the history and origins of PMC in this class while you complete your own pendant. Taught by our resident artisan jewelers, this class will introduce you to a whole new world in jewelry making. No experience necessary. (Instructors Carol Brown & Bea Barabas) Skill Level: Beginner
- Ribbon Bracelet Saturday 24 March: 2 - 4 PM $40 (includes kit)
- Learn to stitch an opulent but easy contemporary bracelet from seed beads and rare vintage French jacquard ribbon. Beads decorate the edge, secure the glass button, and form the loop closure. Kits available day of class. (Instructor Christen Brown) Skill Level: Easy
- Snooty Booties Sundays 18 & 25 March: 11 - 3 PM $40 for 2 sessions
- Learn TWO upscale baby bootie patterns using beautiful baby alpaca. In Class One, learn the general technique and complete one full bootie. Knit the second bootie at home during the week. Return to Class Two to discuss any problems encountered and learn to do another equally darling bootie! Materials: yarn, compatible needles, scissors or yarn cutter. (Instructor David Kraft) Skill Level: Intermediate
- Sweater Design Workshop Saturdays 3, 10, 31 March; 21 April; 12 May; 2 June: 11 - 3 PM $160 for 6 sessions (20 hours total)
- This is a 6-session workshop where we will each be designing a sweater using a personal garment as a model, starting with careful yarn swatching. Materials: garment that fits the way you like, yarn of your choice, compatible needles, pencil, paper, calculator, measuring tape, darning needle, etc. (Instructor David Kraft) Skill Level: Intermediate (familiarity with basic knitting, shaping techniques, tools and desire to be challenged)

In the event The Grove must cancel a class due to lack of participants, The Grove will issue a full refund. Participants who are unable to attend as planned must notify The Grove within five (5) days of the class in order to receive a refund, otherwise the class fee is forfeited. Fees cannot be applied to future classes. |
