Annie
Modesitt Bangle Bracelet Thursday January 11:
6:30 - 9 PM $25 + $10 for materials- Get a taste of the exciting projects in Annie's book Twist and Loop. Annie herself will teach the basics of casting on, knitting and binding off using 26-30 gauge wire and beads to create a simple bangle bracelet, plus how to add beads, finish wire ends, and add clasps. No jewelry making experience required, however, you must know how to knit and purl. WE CAN ONLY ACCOMMODATE 12 STUDENTS, SO CALL IMMEDIATELY TO PREREGISTER! (Instructor Annie Modesitt) Materials included: wire, beads or pearls, clasps. Annie will provide other required non-knitting tools for use during class. Bring size 4, 5, 6 or 7 aluminum knitting needles and needle nose pliers. Skill Level: Easy
- Beginning Crochet Saturdays January 13 & 20: 2 - 4 PM $40 for 2 class sessions
- If you've never picked up a hook before, or think that crocheting is making a really really really long chain, then this class is for you! Learn the basics -- from making a foundation chain to simple crochet stitches. We will work on a sampler washcloth in this class, and there will be a free pattern for a simple scarf for you to take home to continue to practice. - Beginner's Scarf Saturdays January 20 & 37:1 - 3:30 PM OR Wednesdays January 24 & 31: 6:30-9 PM $40 for two class sessions

- Beginning Knitted Shawl Sunday January 28:11 - 1 PM $25
- This is a terrific project for beginning knitters who have completed our scarf class. This triangular shawl is knitted on large needles and fringed with a combination of fibers. We start with 3 stitches and increase every edge until the desired length. See our gorgeous store sample! - Continental Knitting Sunday January 28: 1 - 3 PM $25
- For knitters wishing to learn the European way to knit by "picking" rather than "throwing" the yarn. Considered by many to be faster than US method of knitting. Also excellent method for lefties. - Knit Hat Sunday January 14: 1 -3 PM $25
- For beginning knitters wishing to learn to purl, decrease, and seam, this simple hat class is a must. Also learn to edge your hat with a simple crochet stitch to ensure a good fit. This one is so easy, most participants wear their hats home from class! Materials: bulky yarn, 24" circular needle OR 14" straight needles in a size compatible with yarn selection; tape measure, tapestry needle, crochet hook (size G, H, or J), scissors, paper, pen. - Men's Basic Knitting Sundays January 14 & 21: 1 - 4 PM $50 for 2 class sessions
- We feel it is time to have a beginning knitting class for men. This is not to say that men learn differently or need less hand-holding... or more. But we want to offer a chance for the guys to get together to learn how to knit for the first time or to brush up and improve on what is already there. Dave will be going through casting on, knitting, purling, binding off, increasing, decreasing, reading patterns, and simple stitch patterns. He will also go over stitch anatomy and offer tips to making your knitting a successful experience. Materials available for purchase: light-colored, worsted weight yarn with size 7, 8 or 9 needles. PM $40 for 2 class sessions- From the irresistible pattern at Knitty.com, learn to make this whimsical hat from bulky yarn. Good introduction to intarsia knitting and color work. Class Cancellation Policy
No Exceptions
In the event The Grove must cancel a class due to lack of participants, The Grove will issue a full refund. Participants who are unable to attend as planned must notify The Grove within five (5) days of the class in order to receive a refund, otherwise the class fee is forfeited. Fees cannot be applied to future classes.
