Extraordinary Needle Arts Classes

Beginner's Scarf Sundays December 3 & 10:1 - 3:30 PM OR Wednesdays December 6 & 13: 6:30-9 PM $40 for two class sessions
If you haven't learned yet, it's time! We'll teach you to cast on and knit during Part One. Part Two: return to complete your scarf and fringe it if you wish. Wear it home! (Instructor Susan Wells) Materials available for purchase: light-colored, worsted weight yarn with size 7, 8 or 9 needles. Bring a calculator, tape measure and paper & pencil. Skill Level: Beginner
Beginning Knitted Shawl Sunday December 17:11 - 1 PM $25
This is a terrific project for beginning knitters who have completed our scarf class. This triangular shawl is knitted on large needles and fringed with a combination of fibers. We start with 3 stitches and increase every edge until the desired length. See our gorgeous store sample. (Instructor Susan Wells) Materials available for purchase: mohair with carrying yarn/ribbon, #17 (24" minimum) circular needles. Skill Level: Easy
Deep V Argyle Vest Saturday December 2: 11 AM - 3 PM $150 for 5 Four-Hour Sessions
Fifth & Final session: Cut steeks and finish vest. Wear vest home! Skill Level: Advanced
Tunisian Crochet Sunday December 17: 1 - 4pm $25
This isn't crochet! Is it?! Tunisian (aka "Afghan") crochet gives us a woven cloth similar to knitting. You’ll use this technique to create a sampler or to start an afghan. Basic forward and return stitches and color changes will be covered; this is a great way to do intarsia in crochet. Free patterns to take home. (Instructor Melody Hufford) Materials available for purchase: worsted weight yarn, afghan crochet hook (available day of class). Bring tape measure, paper & pencil. Skill Level: Easy (Know the basics before this class: foundation chain, single and double crochet.)
